DALLAS, Texas – The Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST) has appointed John Nemerofsky as the most recent member of the FAST Board of Directors. Nemerofsky is the current chief operating officer at SAGE Integration and former president of both Stanley Security Systems (SST) and CGL Technologies. He has extensive experience in various roles within the security industry. During his time with SST, Nemerofsky spearheaded a variety of turnaround initiatives, company changes and significant sales and market growth, scaling the company’s yearly revenue up to $140 million.
Nemerofsky has been actively involved as a volunteer with FAST, particularly on efforts to shape FAST’s forthcoming wage and compensation study, and he played an instrumental role as an advisor in the Security Industry Association’s (SIA’s) 2018 wage study, helping to provide early data to the industry on compensation for employees at integration companies. He will join the SIA Board of Directors in March 2023. In joining the FAST Board of Directors, Nemerofsky will assume the role of outgoing FAST board member Keith Baird in representing the Electronic Security Association (ESA) on the FAST board.
“With over 30 years of industry experience and a passion for mentoring security professionals and serving the security integrator community, John Nemerofsky is the ideal individual to represent ESA on the FAST Board of Directors,” said ESA Chairman John Loud.
In addition to his work at SAGE, Nemerofsky is the founder of TSS International, a highly influential staffing and recruiting agency. Through this agency, he helps his clients develop incentivizing programs and business strategies as well as improve company cultures to bring in qualified candidates. Additionally, he has also served as chair for the Commission on Chapters for ASIS International and on the Security Xchange Board of Directors. He has spent countless years dedicating time to recruiting and training personnel in the areas of sales, service, management, installation teams and engineering.
FAST thanks outgoing board member and initiative supporter Keith Baird for his service on the FAST Board of Directors. Baird recently retired from the security industry following a long and successful career that included holding executive sales roles with companies including Blue Grass Electronics (1985) and serving as western vice president (VP) for ADEMCO (2001), national accounts VP (2004) senior VP (2012) for Honeywell (2004) and, most recently, national accounts VP with Resideo. He was inducted into the Security Sales and Integration Industry Hall of Fame in 2021, and his additional industry accolades include being named a California Alarm Association (CAA) Mark Schubert Memorial Award finalist (2004 and 2015) and the CAA Mid-California Alarm/Silicon Valley Alarm Member of the Year (2004)). Nemerofsky will fill Baird’s position on the FAST Board of Directors and provide leadership that will drive developments for the annual FAST Golf Classic.
“It has been a pleasure working with the Foundation for Advancing Security Talent,” said Baird. “Leading the organization’s primary fundraising initiative – the FAST Golf Tournament – has been such a fulfilling way to see the industry come together in support of this vital organization. FAST, its mission and this industry will always remain dear to my heart. Our golf tournament is in good hands with John Nemerofsky – his leadership and expertise will certainly be great assets. I look forward to hearing about the exciting developments of the organizations in my retirement.”
“I am very passionate about the work we do as an industry – and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to give back,” said Nemerofsky. “FAST’s very worthy mission – connecting passionate, innovative professionals with new opportunities in the electronic security and life safety industry – is one that speaks to a core struggle we all share. I’m looking forward to the work we can do together to make a difference in this area.”
