A message from the CEOs of SIA and ESA

As the leaders of the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the Electronic Security Association (ESA), we are proud to share this next chapter in the evolution of the Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST).
FAST was created through a partnership between SIA and ESA to solve a growing challenge in our industry: building a stronger, more connected workforce. Today, we’re reintroducing FAST with a renewed focus, greater momentum, and a clearer path forward.
A Sharper Focus on Impact
Our mission remains the same: to grow and strengthen the security and life safety industry by connecting more people to meaningful careers. But now, the need is more urgent.
The landscape of security work continues to shift, and talent gaps are widening. With this renewed focus, FAST is taking more direct action to:
- Expand Access by reaching more students and job seekers where they are and showing them what careers in security can offer.
- Mobilize the Industry by making it easier for companies and professionals to give back through mentorship, fundraising, or sponsorship.
- Build Better Tools through a redesigned FAST website that makes it easier for everyone to engage, learn, and act.
Why This Work Matters
Careers in security and life safety are more than jobs. They are essential roles that protect people, places, and communities. But for too long, the paths into these careers have been unclear or overlooked.
FAST exists to change that. We connect students, job seekers, and career changers to opportunities that align with their strengths and interests. At the same time, we help companies find the talent they need to grow and thrive.

We are inviting everyone to play a part in this renewed effort:
